1. Introduction

Welcome to Touch LLC ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). We develop and publish mobile applications ("Apps"), including CodePad – Code Editor & IDE ("CodePad" or the "App"), a Python code editor and development environment for iOS and iPadOS.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with CodePad. We are committed to transparency and to protecting your privacy as described here and in line with App Store guidelines.

2. Information We Collect

CodePad is a local, on-device tool. We collect only what's needed to keep it running smoothly and to understand how it's used:

  • Device Information: Device model, operating system version, app version, and language settings.
  • Analytics Data: In-app events such as which screens are opened and general feature usage, processed through Mixpanel using an anonymous device-generated identifier – not your name, email, or Apple ID.
  • Feedback You Choose to Submit: If you use the "Suggest an Improvement" feature, the text you write is sent to us (via our analytics provider) so we can read it and consider it for future updates. Only submit information you're comfortable sharing with us.

We do not collect an account, login, or payment information – CodePad does not require sign-in and has no in-app purchases.

3. Your Code and Files Stay on Your Device

The projects, files, and code you write in CodePad are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers. When you run a script, it executes entirely on-device through CodePad's embedded Python interpreter – your code is never sent anywhere to be executed. Version history and snapshots of your files are likewise kept only on your device.

If you choose to export a project or share content using your device's own share sheet, that action and its destination are controlled by you and by Apple's system frameworks, not by us.

4. How We Use Your Information

Information described above is used to:

  • Provide and maintain the App
  • Understand feature usage and improve CodePad over time
  • Review and prioritize suggestions submitted through the App
  • Detect and prevent technical issues or abuse
  • Respond to support requests sent through our Contact Us page

5. Analytics and Tracking

We use Mixpanel for product analytics – understanding which screens and features are used so we can improve CodePad. Mixpanel data is tied to an anonymous, device-generated identifier, not to your identity.

CodePad does not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), does not show ads, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes. Because of this, CodePad does not present an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.

6. Third-Party Services

We work with the following partners to operate the App:

  • Apple: App distribution, the embedded Python runtime environment, and platform services such as the built-in rate/review prompt.
  • Mixpanel: Product analytics as described above.

Each provider has its own privacy policy; we encourage you to review them to understand how they process data on our behalf.

7. Data Storage and Security

Your projects, files, and version history are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard on-device storage frameworks; we do not operate a server that stores your code. Analytics information processed by Mixpanel is handled according to Mixpanel's own security practices. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures for any information we control.

8. Data Retention

Your code and files remain on your device until you delete them or delete the App. Analytics events are retained by Mixpanel for as long as needed for product improvement, in line with Mixpanel's own retention settings. When you delete the App, locally stored content is removed from your device; previously sent anonymous analytics events may persist with our provider for a limited period as described in their policy.

9. Children's Privacy

CodePad is a general-audience developer tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents or guardians with concerns about data collection can contact us at [email protected].

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask what information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for optional data collection at any time

To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the Effective Date at the top of this page.
